I know I'm a giant loser, and I have very little excuse for never posting- perhaps I'll just say that I've been so busy enjoying life that I've not paused to record it. Are you buying that?
Let's see, where to begin?
- We adopted a chicken, who's since gone missing. (I like to believe that she simply is making her way back to her original home. Our girls were pretty hard on her.)
- A lovely pair of Bantams have joined our flock- Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash. They are sweet & fun- I get the feeling of "baby" chickens without actually having babies
- Boss Jr. started middle school & is LOVING the structure of the different classrooms/teachers for each subject. She's got a daily planner! (I know, none of you are shocked.) She's getting braces in the next few weeks.

Big Fat Update
Ok, I know things have been very quiet for far too long. I've had a couple comments, and 1 known new reader, so I'm using that as a nudge to revamp & update:
New housemate (sadly, I cannot get any of the selected pictures to load. I will update as soon as technology allows...)
introducing Zane! He's a kitten- wild, funny, a little darting mass of needle-like claws & teeth, prone to crying for Lewis or Bossman. If neither of them can be located, a female will do in a pinch...
Second Annual Bear Attack
Yes, we've lost a second batch of chicken teens. This year's attack was almost exactly the same as the first- excepting any surviors. This will be the last time I get baby chicks in this house- I just can't handle the loss. I do not nuture beings, only to have them terrorized & eaten in the night. Yes, go ahead, call me overly sensitive. I'm ok with that.
Human update
Bossman: dealing with illness & major work project. Both improving- the next 2 weeks are critical.
Boss Jr: dealing with impending puberty & the end of her Elementary years. Her summer break is booking up quickly. Her room is always a mess (ok, I know that's not really an update...)
Bosslady: sporting new glasses, and not knitting enough.

The Year in Review
(really, that's just me covering up for my lack of blogging.)
- Thanksgiving. Really great time. Amazing food, 4 days of relaxed, laughing company. It was a once-in-a-lifetime gathering, and we worked hard to make our guests feel that special. We did a great job!
- Christmas. Happy, gift-laden children delivered to Northern family. Bossman & I with a week to ourselves. Thank you, Santa!
2011 was a year of many changes. New home, new job, new cat. All in all, I think we roll with these changes with anticipation & excitement- and are already looking towards the changes next year will bring.

So busy. Brain so full. I forgot how much I need this feeling.
The new job is SO great! If I wasn't so tired & rushed, I'd tell you all about it. :)
The new morning routine seems to be going well- Bossman & Boss Jr have been enjoying the bit of Mom-free morning they've been having as he drops her off at the bus. And she's enjoying the bit of freedom & responsibility the bus routine gives her.
Bossman is ignoring the fact that Bangkok is flooding, and is flying out in the morning. It will be interesting to see how that impacts our morning routine. I guess we'd better make that adjustment quickly, as it will be the new "Morning- Version 2".

7:39 am, First day of work...
Sleek hair, pressed slacks, tasteful jewelry, fun & personal tank covered with beloved vintage jacket- ready to rock the workplace... All traded out for dirty jeans & muck boots to feed the birds. Good thing I was ready freakishly early (as usual.)
